One thing is it’s fun. I like the quality of conversation that goes on, where there’s a group of people who I know are looking at my posts every day, or whenever I do it, and I in turn am looking at theirs, eagerly, waiting to see what they post. And it’s a very different kind of communication than what goes on in a book or a gallery, where you just put the work out there and there’s no sense of dialogue.

Happy with my little nook here on the Internet. No need for regular viewers or constant feedback. I had that opportunity on photo.net (*) a long time ago - well before Flickr (*) and Instagram. I learnt a lot, but mainly watched. Not really my thing. It's too hard to be engaging in critiquing and providing insightful feedback. Might be lazy or untalented (*), it's just who I am. I don't expecting to be signing up to Instagram in the near future.

We popped into see Eileen in Ealing (Joanne's 86 year old "Aunt") on the way from Heathrow to Russell Square on our arrival from Lisbon.

We decided to stay for dinner and took her down to Pitshanger Lane (*) from her home in Mugrave Road. Eileen suggested that she would be OK in the wheelchair rather than calling a Taxi (up until 3 years ago she would ride her bike down).

I told her, "Brace yourself Sheila" as I knew Jo could not help herself but make it a quick trip. So much fun. It's a long way to Pitshanger Lane and a few songs were sung.

Fantastic to see Eileen again and decided to see her again on Sat night with Cod, Chips and Mushy Peas brought in. Love you Eileen. xxx

Wembley Stadium -Hanger Lane / Ealing - You must be somewhere in London (Wed 02 Sep 2009)

4 years later and a little bit closer to Wembley Stadium. We were visiting Eileen on this particular day. We were supposed to get off at Ealing Broadway, but I got confused with the directions and we ended up at Hanger Lane - there are a number of Tube Stations in Ealing (see below). Did not matter as we had the opportunity to see this nice view of the Wembley Stadium. Next time in London, will walk out to Wembley from Hanger Lane and take this historic place in. From half a world a way, I have so many memories of the place, mainly as a wide-eyed child or teenager.
