On Anxiety and Growth - Reframing your Thoughts - Patrick McHugh (Sun02 Aug 2015)

Water - La Perouse (Mon 22 Jul 2002)

Patrick McHugh on Anxiety and Growth:

Some can be paralyzed by their feelings. Is the key to look at every situation that produces anxiety for us as an opportunity to grow?

Reframing ones feelings is often the best way I have found to help me deal with issues of anxiety and thus can be a great coaching tool.

On Photography - A Record of a Moment - Joel Meyerowitz (Tue 11 Aug 2015)

Self Portrait - Canon IXUS on Shen Hao LF Camera - La Perouse (Fri 07 Jan 2005)

Joel Meyerowitz on Photography and a Moment:

It's always fun to turn the tables on someone who is filming you and do it back to them. If nothing else it becomes a record of the moment, and that has value too.

Sandstone Landscape - La Perouse (22 Jul 2002)

Anne Whiston Spirn on Landscape:

Landscape is an ideal vehicle for honing the skill of visual thinking; it is always at hand, whether in city, suburb, or countryside, and its meanings are not just metaphorical but real, practical as well as poetic.

La Perouse OC6 Regatta - Pacific Dragons Open Crew (Sat 14 Feb 2015)

View on YouTube

Gav writes:
This is the footage from the race. Look, its perhaps not that interesting and drags on a bit but the music is good. I am sending it as we actually have a shark caught on video (see from 1:41). First time ever for the PDs I think. Stu and I noticed it swim past. Footage of it is not that great, but just as good as most bigfoot clips.

Also, you will find the last 2 minutes very entertaining. I promise.

You can watch it in HD by changing the settings
A great day for our Club.

Photos: La Perouse (Dec 2004)

Sandstone Swirl - La Perouse/Sydney - Jan 2005

[ A repost of an earlier photo. Just stumbled across some photos that I took at the scene and thought it be interesting to look at them again. ]

Another scan of a 4x5 inch transparency taken with my Shen Hao HZX 4X5-IIA Large Format Camera (more here). Was really happy to get everything right here - exposure, camera movements and time of day. Again the detail in the transparency is incredible.

Some photos of the setup and scene follow and were taken with a Canon 300D using RAW Mode. Late afternoon sun created the extended shadows of the tripod. The white light balance, probably needs some adjusting. Highlights the magenta cast that is typical of the provia transparency used.
