Poster - Watkin Street / Newtown Hotel (Thu 16 Dec 2010)

Poster - Watkin Street / Newtown Hotel (Thu 16 Dec 2010)

A ripped A4 Poster pasted to the side wall of the recently reopened Newtown Hotel.

I like this a lot for some reason. The sweeping wave-like hill and it's detailed surface (with figures and all), the weeping willow, and the warrior with his sword and fancy boots to match the curvature of the hill. Seems to have some Chinese influence, but it would appear to be of European heritage.

Gerald the Dog - Yellow - SLUG - Buckland Lane / Newtown (Sat 20 Nov 2010)

A lot of changes since Sat 20 Nov 2010. Not much remains. Our poor pooch, Gerald the Dog, has been virtually rubbed out. The end is near. His little friend to the right has acquired some eyes (similar to Gerald's), a nose and a mouth. Not sure what the Bulletin Board text is about. There is some more text in blue that merges with the blue background. Pretty sure I know what the first word is - can't make out the rest.

Our pooches transformation is virtually complete. The shape of the top of his head and ears have changed and the colour of his skin has transformed from Yellow to Blue.

Gerald the Dog - SLUG - Whateley Lane / Newtown (Thu 02 Dec 2010)

On Wed 01 Dec 2010 I published a post titled ...SUPER SONIC SLUG... where it was observed that SLUG was everywhere.

Had to go to Newtown that evening and in the drizzling rain as I drove down the dark and narrow Whateley Lane between King Street and Wilson Street, I noticed this recent piece by SLUG. Came back early the next morning and the photos below are the result.

The Story of Gerald the Dog starts here back in February 2010. I was aware of the character, but I did not know his name, Gerald, until I saw this Oct 2010 post by the Acid Midget.

Earlier in the year I had noticed quite a big piece (of Gerald) on a large roller door in Buckland Lane, Newtown. I even photographed it with my new mobile phone and it has been my phone's wallpaper ever since. He was a different dog back then. He had yellow skin and was well behaved.

To read in October 2010, the Acid Midget's posts on Gerald was quite funny and put a smile on my face, though I was sorry for the poor pooch's demise. I have always liked dogs and have always tried to be nice towards them and will always say Hello for some reason.

Gerald the Dog - My Phone's Wallpaper ()

Since mid-October, Gerald has been popping up all over Newtown and Enmore and I have taken quite a few photos of poor old Gerald's demise. As the Acid Midget has observed, Gerald has been seriously lead astray in Newtown and his life has gone to the dogs.

Will publish some more photos over the next week or so. Stay tuned ..

Bone Heads - Newtown (15 Nov and 02 Dec 2010)

Blue Bone Head - Bucckland Lane / Newtown (Thu 02 Dec 2010)

Yellow Bone Head - Phillip Street / Enmore (Mon 15 Nov 2010)

Green Bone Head - Wilson Street / Newtown (Thu 02 Dec 2010)

Seen a few of these little creatures around the place. Always painted on a sheet of cardboard from a box and then glued to the wall. Not sure what to really call them, but Bone Head seems OK.
