On Photography - Diligence and Balance - Kirk Tuck (Tue 01 Jan 2013)

Street Art Portrait #1 - Phillip St / Enmore (Sat 15 Dec 2014)

Kirk Tuck (*) writes On Photography (*):
[..] you have to be diligent. There has to be a balance.

Thank God we invented photography.

It gives us a ready and reliable excuse to push away from our desks, easy chairs, dining room tables and couches in order to head outside and get some creative thinking and seeing done.

A photography secret for living longer and happier lives.
via Good light is what you miss if you spend too much time indoors (*).

Two Red Sofa's - Belmore Lane / Enmore (Sun 17 Apr 2011)

Saw a movie (Incendies - smh / google) at the Dendy on Sunday and went for a wander around Newtown and Enmore afterwards. Lots of new stuff around. Liked this photo of nothing in particular, really. Been here before. Got lucky (happens a lot with my photography) with the lady with red and blue address passing by just as I took this photo.

Have seen a few these characters postered around the place. They are always holding something in one hand - a piece of pipe in this case. Not even sure what to call them. The colours work in brillantly with the surrounding advertising.

"If I were braver, I'd smile at you." #1 - Enmore - Fri 12 Nov 2010

Can somehow empathise with this little character.

"If I were braver, I'd smile at you." #2 - Enmore - Mon 15 Nov 2010

Spot the Guerrilla Knitting on the sign post. A lot of it around the inner city and will post a few photos over the next few weeks (will tag with Guerrilla Knitting).

"This is a Stencil Wall" - Gladstone Street/Enmore (Mon 15 Nov 2010)

"This is a Stencil Wall" - Gladstone Street/Enmore - Mon 15 Nov 2010 (picasa)

An amazing wall of Stencils/Graffiti.

You can see "Litte Red Riding Hood" (post here) below the TV featuring the quote "Sit Down, Shut Up".

Would be interested to know the history of this piece of Street Art - can I call it that?

Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf - Enmore (Mon 15 Nov 2010)

The Big Bad Wolf (wikipedia) - Enmore - Mon 15 Nov 2010 (picasa)

These two just seemed to go together. Took a little while to make the Little Red Riding Hood connection (actually just thought of it just before this post). The wikipedia entry has very detailed listing of Little Red Riding Hood.

The above Little Red Riding Hood photo comes from an amazing wall of stencils (post to follow soon).

Durham Farms Lettuce - Belmore Lane / Enmore (Mon 15 Nov 2010)

Durham Farms Lettuce #1 - Belmore Lane/Enmore - Mon 15 Nov 2010 (picasa)

Had to photograph this when I saw the Durham Farms Lettuce box against the wall - the person who left the box there must have had a great sense of colour cordination!!

Fits in well with the other photos that I have tagged Colour Photo Theme.

A couple of more photos to give an idea of the surrounds.

Syke 5 (Syke) - Station Street / Enmore - Mon 15 Nov 2010 (picasa)

Stumbled across another Syke piece this morning. Love the way the paint drips down the wall. This piece was done in 2008. It has a quote from the poem Howl by Allen Ginsberg
