I found this today in a search for a friend. It was also for me to remember the path we have taken, and how far we have come, over the last 4 and 1/2 years. I said this once before, about the blog this quote came from, that is the single most moving piece of writing (*) I have ever read. It still is and I am glad I looked for it and found it again today.

The Speaker - Speakers Corner / Hyde Park / London (Sun 16 Aug 2013)
His message did not speak to the throbbing crowd and there was lots of heckling. A stunningly well dressed lady, even threw a small piece of rolled up paper at him. At least no one threw their shoe at him. I felt like I was in a market place somewhere in the Middle East. It was surreal as the sunset creating an amazing backdrop to this vibrant scene. Love tha hands.

Tom Williams with his Photo "Father and Daughter on a Bicycle" - Sydney Life 2004 / Hyde Park (Wed 13 Oct 2004)
Went to photograph the large scale photos in the Park at lunchtime and saw Tom hovering around the area. I knew who he was as i had seen him speak about his photograph the previous Saturday. The filtered light through the trees was magnificent and I asked to Tom to pose in front of his photo. He was a bit bemused but was kind enough to agree to my request and positioning instructions (how bold was I back then). This is what turned out. I like it, particularly the light. This photo has been siting in the archive for over eight years now and I am glad I did have a look through it the other day.

Flame Tree - Hyde Park / Sydney (Mon 10 Dec 2002)
The Hyde Park Flame Trees are already in full blossom now. I can see them from my desk at work and I was reminded of this photo, which I have just dug out of the archives.
I remember that I had polarizing filter for my little IXUS. It was for a much larger lens and all I would do is place it over the IXUS lens and rotate it to get the maximum effect - usually that of turning up the contrast, which this photo effectively shows.

Bitter Sweet Symphony - Richard Ashcroft feat Coldplay live8
Remember watching this on TV back in July 2005 a few weeks before we flew out to World DB Champs in Berlin. We would travel onto London and I would go to Hyde Park to see the place that hosted the live8 event. An amazing song and performance.
