Best meal in Spain so far.
He could not speak English and we could not speak Spanish. A customer from Barcelona on the next table was able to help us order a fantastic meal for our late lunch. We had only just arrived in Madrid from Barcelona.
On finishing our meal, the restaurant had closed its doors and there were still a number of patrons drinking. After paying our bill, he offered us Schnapps (at least that is what I thought he said). After quickly drinking it, I had the courage to ask him for a few portrait photos which he kindly agreed to.
I liked his red T-shirt and had already found a good spot on one of the walls to make the portraits.
His walls were full of posters, photos and poetry books. As one of his regular patrons told us as he was leaving - "he is a good man". And surely he is. Thank you. A great experience for us and so glad I have these couple of photos.
Could be "Schnaps", a german slang for any hard liquor. "Booze" could be matching, I guess.
